In addition to our main facility in Tomah, we offer services in four community-based outpatient clinics. These clinics are located in La Crosse, Clark County, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids. VAMC Tomah is one of eight facilities that comprise Veterans Integrated Services Network 12 (VISN12) which is administratively headquartered at Westchester, IL, and includes facilities in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
A Recruitment/Relocation Incentive may be authorized to highly qualified individuals.
The incumbent for this position may be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program, depending on the type of employment, schedule, amount/type of qualifying debt, and funding availability. The Wisconsin Rapids Outpatient Clinic is recruiting for a board-certified or board-eligible academic psychiatrist to provide outpatient care and to serve as the attending psychiatrist for the Psychiatry residents. The incumbent will be eligible for an academic appointment. The candidate will be highly skilled in the management of patients' mental health needs, and the evaluation and treatment of a diverse range of mental health disorders. Duties include, but are not limited to, treatment and professional direction of outpatient care and teaching Psychiatry residents. Must be clinically competent to perform examinations, diagnosis, therapeutic treatment, be effective in handling emergencies, patient management and document in patient records. Must be effective in teaching (patient education and co-workers). Must be effective in planning, using administrative judgment and should have sound decision making skills. Must be emotionally stable, dependable and adhere to ethical standards.
Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday
