Overview

Russ Peal serves as associate director for physician recruitment at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Workforce Management and Consulting Office. As associate director, Russ directs the VHA national recruitment strategy for mission critical clinical and executive professionals, and he oversees day-to-day operations of the agency’s internal health care search division for VHA National Recruitment Program. With more than 20 years of recruitment industry expertise, Russ helps lead VHA’s effort to fundamentally transform health care recruitment, successfully incorporating an advanced recruitment philosophy and business model, which was recognized by national associations and noted by Congress.

Prior to joining VHA, Russ enjoyed an accomplished career as a search consultant for a national health care practice management firm, specializing in physician and mid-level recruitment. Russ is an Air Force Veteran with more than 22 years of service, including 12 years as a recruiter.
