Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) is one of the largest integrated health care systems in the Department of Veterans Affairs and includes facilities in Temple, Waco, and Austin, TX. Community-Based Outpatient Clinics are located in Brownwood, Cedar Park, Palestine, and Bryan-College Station.

This position is located in Waco, Texas. The incumbent will be assigned to Mental Health and Behavioral Medicine (MH&BM) Service. The incumbent has supervisory oversight of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, Medical NPs, and physician assistants assigned to the Waco Campus of CTVHCS. In line with Mental Health and Behavioral Medicine Service and Veteran Health Care Administration's vision, mission and strategic goals, the incumbent is expected to articulate clear a vision and mission, to set short term and long term strategic goals for supervisors. The incumbent will provide oversight and critical leadership in the key areas of optimum resource allocation; implementation of effective orientation program, establishment of quality, productivity, and accountability standards; implementation of efficient quality improvement protocols; patient and staff satisfaction programs and effective communication of reward and recognition plan. The incumbent will serve as medical director of inpatient psychiatric unit, assuring implementation of Utilization Management Program, including patient flow and safe, effective management of patients admitted to acute psychiatry.
This position is assigned 50% administration time.
